Amy Magnuson
Amy B. Magnuson, PhD, RD, LD/N, is a seasoned professional in the fields of nutrition, public health, and wellness. With a Doctorate of Philosophy in Food and Nutrition from Florida State University, Amy has dedicated her career to promoting health and well-being in various capacities. As the Director of University Health Services (UHS) within the Division of Student Affairs at FSU, she provides strategic leadership and oversees comprehensive medical care, women’s health, and wellness for the university community. Under her leadership, UHS was ranked 14 th in the nation among college health centers, a testament to her commitment to excellence in student health care. Amy is known for her data-driven-decision-making approach, ensuring that policies and initiatives are informed by the latest research and best practices. She places a strong emphasis on student-centered health and wellbeing, striving to create an inclusive and supportive environment where all students can thrive. Amy is also an accomplished educator, serving as an adjunct instructor in public health. Her commitment to research and program excellence is evident through her extensive grant funding, numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals, and presentations at professional conferences across the nation. Additionally, Amy's leadership extends to her service on the Board of Directors for the Southern College Health Association, where she contributes to shaping the future of college health initiatives regionally. Amy is a registered dietitian with certifications in group fitness, further demonstrating her expertise and dedication to promoting healthy lifestyles. Through her leadership, research, and advocacy efforts, Amy continues to make significant contributions to advancing health and wellness initiatives, both on campus and beyond.
