Welcome to the Florida State University and to University Health Services (UHS). We hope you find your new job challenging, rewarding, and professionally fulfilling. University Health Services currently employs approximately 190 full time and part time employees. UHS is a unit within the Division of Student Affairs and operates under the rules and regulations of the Florida State University, Board of Trustees, and the State of Florida. Our department works in conjunction with many university departments to maintain a student-focused, student-friendly atmosphere, to advance the quality of life for university students, improving academic performance and increasing retention.

Overview of University Health Services

The University Health Services provides primary out-patient medical care to students. Services provided include health education, diagnosis and treatment of illness and minor injuries Priority and Primary Care, Women’s Care, Nursing Triage, Allergy/Immunization, Physical Therapy, Laboratory (private vendor), Diagnostic Imaging, Center for Health Advocacy & Wellness, Chiropractic/Massage (private vendor), Nutrition Counseling and Dental (private vendor) services are available.

We are committed to providing students with cost effective, quality health care from fully trained and licensed professionals, certified in their respective fields. We promote campus wellness, encouraging healthy life styles, and personal responsibility through our Center for Health Advocacy and Wellness and student peer educators.

Customer Relations/ Service

UHS offers services to more than 65,000 patients each year. Each of these individuals is a customer. Patients, visitors, and co-workers are to be treated with respect and courtesy at all times. Each staff member is responsible for providing assistance to patients to the fullest extent possible. This includes people who call on the telephone. All employees are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner when dealing with customers and co-workers. A customer who is treated with less respect than that person deserves will not only leave with a negative opinion of the individual with whom she or he dealt with, but a negative opinion of UHS as a whole. Remember, we are all a part of the same team. There is no excuse for being rude to a patient, visitor, or coworker.

Hours of Operation

Monday- Friday                     8:00am-4:00pm (Doors lock at 4:00pm, staffing until 5:00pm)

Saturday & Sunday                Closed

UHS is closed on official state holidays and hours of operation are adjusted during semester breaks and Spring Break. Any changes for our regular hours of operation will be announced and posted and will take precedence over previously published hours.
