Virginia Cardenas has been a member of the UHS team since 2003. Prior to joining the staff at the UHS, Ms. Cardenas worked as a Family Practitioner at Florida A & M University.
Ms. Cardenas works in a variety of clinical settings, which included providing primary care in a family practice setting, educational clinical setting, and majority of her time as a psychiatric care provider.
Ms. Cardenas received her Master's degree in Nursing and Advance Registered Nurse Practitioner at Florida State University in 1997. She earned her DNP degree (Doctor of Nursing Practice) from Florida State University in 2011. Her DNP project explored "The Clinical Protocols for the Management of Suicide Risk Students."
Virginia Cardenas is a certified Nurse Practitioner and a member of the Florida Nurse Association, and the Tallahassee Area Council of Advanced Practice Nurses.
