Michael "Pete" Peterson joined Florida State University in 2000 as University Health Services Student Health Center's technology coordinator. Prior to coming to Florida State University, Mr. Peterson served in the United States Air Force for eight years. He is an experienced healthcare executive with more than 13 years of experience in healthcare and accounting.
Mr. Peterson holds his bachelor's degree in accounting from Park University and an associate degree in health care management from the Community College of the Air Force. His specialty areas include the streamlining of business processes, cost analysis, and the planning of new generation healthcare services utilizing technology. In 2005, Mr. Peterson was promoted to Assistant Director responsible for the fiscal and technological functions of the Health Center.In 2008 he introduced the Electronic Medical Record into the Health Center's system of care.
